Synergy

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts

Rosasharn has 5 main blocks divided into 9 sections, each planted to an individual clone of either Pinot Noir, Chardonnay or Nebbiolo. Each block has it’s own unique attributes specifically matched to the individual clones allowing them to achieve their best potential. We hand-pick at the moment flavour, acidity and structure are in balance and treat each subsection as an individual parcel processed separately according to season and site. After fermentation our wines are matured in a combination of new and seasoned French oak barrels and high grade stainless steel tanks before blending. Each parcel is allowed to speak clearly before becoming part of something larger. The resulting whole being greater than the sum of it’s parts.

We first hand pick fruit for our traditional method sparkling wine from reserved sections of the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blocks. Only the finest free-run juice is selected for our limited-release Cuvee, kept on lees for up to three years.

Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for table wine are soon to follow. Each parcel fermented separately gives us the opportunity to create limited-release “Single Clone” bottlings, while also building the detail, structure and complexity of our “Synergy” and “Je Ne Sais Quoi” blends.

At the end of vintage, in the northern block, as the autumn weather cools and the fog begins to settle, Nebbiolo is finally ready. First for Rosato, then for the more muscular, structured and tannic red table wine known as the Kenton Valley Kings or simply “The King”

We are at the beginning of our journey now 5 years in. Our 2025 vintage was quite experimental with only a small amount of Pinot Noir (Bernard 115 and Abel clones) and Chardonnay (Bernard 96 clone) picked. These wines were made in tiny volumes for museum, reference and education purposes.

2026 was our first commercial vintage after planting the vines on their own roots in 2021. Over the last 5 years we’ve had the opportunity to witness and learn the Rosasharn’s early potential and fine-tune our processes focussing on our Pinot Noir and Chardonnay while the Nebbiolo vines move through their “restless years”. However on tasting barrel samples made within our Kenton Valley collective we will be making “The King” in vintage 2027.

Despite working with only three varieties, the vineyard offers a remarkable range of possibilities and from mid-2027, the following 2026 vintage wines are planned for release.

With time, as the vineyard slowly matures, we may release further limited release cuvees, additional single-clone wines, Rosé and Rosato, Pinot Noir/Chardonnay sparkling wines and the “Kenton Valley King”, a rustic Nebbiolo made in the tradition of the wines of Northern Italy.

We are very proud of the small producers who have already chosen to work with our fruit as part of the Kenton Valley collective. We hope to continue these relationships, and build new ones, for many years to come.

Patience and Time.
