Coldwell Estate Wines
Our family owned, solar powered and certified sustainable vineyard is planted on an isolated ridge in the north western corner of Kenton Valley, an area well known for orchards and premium wine grapes high in the Adelaide Hills.
Between 460 and 490 metres above sea level we’ve created 5 purpose built blocks, each with it’s own individual aspect, soil and microclimate.
We selected individual clones of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Nebbiolo to best suit each block, using hand pruning as well as proven organic, biodynamic and on occasion conventional practices to produce the highest quality fruit.
Grapes are meticulously hand picked and sorted to make limited release wines, directly reflecting our unique single vineyard site.
This year we’ve simply decided to make an Estate Pinot Noir and an Estate Chardonnay but may surprise subscribers in subsequent vintages.
Each cuvee will be blended from selected portions of the individual varietal clones to fully express the climate, soils and ancient geology that are uniquely Kenton Valley.
Our first wines aren’t yet available to purchase. They’re currently on the vines enjoying the sunshine, gravelly clay loam soils, fresh air and time.
Patience is rewarded. We have no cellar door and no external pressures. This lets us make wine as the conditions suit and produce what is a truly hand crafted expression of our home.
Our Estate Pinot Noir and Estate Chardonnay will be available from August 2027. Access prioritised for mailing list subscribers.
